See All Models. It has a main room originally containing 32 columns and a corridor with 8 columns. This tomb is notable for the high quality decorations in both the traditional and Amarna styles. The tomb, which was featured in the first episode of the BBC documentary series How Art Made the Worldhas been open to the public, from 7. The main body of the tomb is entered from the east facing open court, into a large columned hall, with four rows of eight columns.
On the east wall, there are 'traditional' unpainted reliefs, showing Ramose, Ramose's wife and others including his brother Amenhotep and his wife May. A panther skin clothed priest gives libations for Ramose and his family, and three girls play musical instruments. These show the beginning of the evolution of the Amarna art style. The upper registers seem to show the actual procession, with the coffin on a boat being dragged along with a sledge.
These scenes were later plastered over for some unknown reason. The west wall has two scenes showing Akhenaten labelled as Amenhotep IV, showing how early this tomb is in his reign himself; the left side shows the king seated under a canopy with Ma'at seated beside him. Below the throne are carved the names of vassal nations illustrated are Nubians, Asiatics and Libyans. Ramose stands in front of the king, showing his titles. The right side shows Akhenaten and Nefertitiseated on a balcony rewarding Ramose with gold this scene becomes nearly a standard in the Tombs of the Nobles in Amarna.
Both of these scenes are unfinished and some of the details are sketched in and uncarved. In the far right of the west wall, Ramose is depicted leaving the palace and being congratulated by the people. Further into the tomb, an undecorated corridor leads from the centre of the west wall to a chapel with 3 niches. The actual burial chamber is entered via a steeply sloping corridor in the south-west corner, and eventually leads to a four-pillared room, which is undecorated and seemingly unused, and contains an urn and an embalmed skull.
There are traces of blue paint above the portal opposing the entrance. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Helen, United States Scenic Fjords of Norway, September 2015 From the beginning to the end of my tour, I could not be more pleased with every facet of the tour: accommodations, travel, meals. They were all of good standard, clean and comfortable. Bjarni was an excellent agent.
As I don't live in Europe I had several concerns, which he answered by return e-mail (in so far as there was a 7 hour time difference between us) and in detail so that I did not have to write more than once to receive all the answers I required.
He was exceptionally helpful and I would like to commend his attitude and attention to detail. When he realised that I was due to cruise on the oldest ship in the fleet he asked me if he should rearrange the itinerary in order to sail on a more modern ship, to which I agreed.
This shows initiative and a dedication to his job. The tour was wonderful (it was the second booked through Nordic visitor, my first was to Iceland) and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Erla Sonja was wonderful to work with and was always available to answer questions and make changes quickly. Even when she went on holiday, Thordis took over and assisted me the same day I requested a change. This is the best holiday I have been on so far and it was definitely because of the excellent service and attention to detail that Nordic Visitor provided.
This trip far surpassed my expectations. What a beautiful country AND we got lucky and saw the Northern Lights on our second to last day. This tour allows for the freedom to go at your own pace while the Nordic Visitor guidebook aptly suggests an itinerary that is worth following.
We were not disappointed at all. The convenience of not having to research places to stay was the reason that we used Nordic Visitor, for I would not have known where to begin to book guesthouses in some of the remote areas in Southern Iceland.
Hilmar was fantastic - always a prompt email response away - which was another level of convenience that made travelling to a foreign country that much easier.
After seeing the photos that we took, I have already recommended Nordic Visitor to three friends just in case they decide to visit. I can't say enough nice things about my experience with the company. Planning for Iceland was always going to be an issue for my partner and I due to our rather hectic work schedules, fortunately Nordic Visitor took care of everything for us.
It started with a quote that ended up being cheaper than three other competitors we had contacted, for pretty much exactly the same hotels and services. They were very good at tweaking parts of the trip to cater for our needs and went the extra mile in making sure all was the way we wanted it to be.
The planning which we received prior to departure, and again on arrival, was thorough and easy to comprehend. Times, schedules and information provided was all well documented and meant we had little to do in the run up to our trip. We had opted for the self-drive full circle tour of the island and thanks to all the information could easily plan our days. The only downside is you do not realise until in Iceland how slow going from A to B can be.
The 1 road is certainly not your average motorway, so you need to give yourself plenty of time to get places. It may be a bit confusing to novices who hope to see everything listed in the information booklets. We were particularly happy about the customer care. Although we are a very self sufficient couple, use to tackling more treacherous terrains, it was really nice that Nordic Visitor took time to check-in with us to see that all was going to plan.
The mobile phone given to us came in very handy too. Overall, the only slight problem we faced was with the car rental company for a tiny chip in the windshield which cost us the full franchise. The guides were are very warm and friendly and really wanted their guests to feel comfortable and have a great time.
I'm so looking forward to visiting Iceland again and will definitely book my trip through Nordic Visitor. We have just returned from Iceland where we enjoyed a self drive tour arranged by Nordic visitor. Our advisor listened to our requirements which included the better hotels and included the golden circle tour. We especially enjoyed our trip to the glacial lagoon at Jokulsarlon.
A pretty long drive from Vik where we stayed the night before and on fairly tricky roads as there had been a good snowfall but worth the trip. The hotels were of a good standard generally especially Hotel Borg in Reykjavik a delightful Art Deco hotel.
Iceland is expensive but we thought the tour good value for money with good information packs and also a mobile phone provided for our use while in Iceland. Reassuring with the snow. We appreciated the maps and materials provided by our travel agent.
The maps of the area made our drive so easy and uncomplicated. Her outlining of the itinerary both on the map and the spiral book made our trip uncomplicated and relaxing. All materials provided in our travel bag were used daily, and the big Iceland Road Guide was a great addition. We read that every evening.
Nice addition to our travel package. The continental breakfasts were fresh and we were able to sample many of the traditional Icelandic foods such as Skyr, lamb and Lax.
We enjoyed our evening meals tremendously. We felt at home and look forward to returning soon.

Our four-day trip was a non-stop adventure. Nordic Visitor, whom I would highly recommend, put together a bespoke itinerary for us based on our requests. Our consultant, Gudrun, was enormously helpful, especially when we requested an itinerary change with only about 24 hours notice, which she dealt with very efficiently and professionally.
The itinerary included a Northern Lights tour, whale-watching and a visit to the Blue Lagoon but the highlight was the Golden Circle full-day tour. My husband and I had done it a few years previously and wanted our three boys (now aged 8, 10 and 11) to experience it as it is a great introduction to this amazing country.
The boys were amazed (more than we had expected, to be honest) by the stunning scenery, thrilled by the off-road driving and impressively explosive geysir, and totally delighted to be able to let off steam in a snowball fight on a real glacier. We have come home with fantastic memories and cannot recommend this beautiful country enough, even though we only really scratched the surface of all it has to offer. Even better than we needed on a quick tour.
All transportation connections were excellent, and the agents and conductors accepted invoices with no problems. It saved us much effort in figuring out how to get from Bergen, on to Flam, up the special steep train trip from Flan, and then the train for Oslo.ERZURUM ngx.admindndbeyond.pw VE SIFIR TRAKTÖR PİYASASI (2 )LANDİNİ 6-120C .
